Susanne Kampmann is a dedicated textile designer and freelance artist known internationally.  Born in
Germany in 1965, she studied the fine arts and textile design in Germany, Italy and France, and received
her diploma with distinction from the University for Applied Arts, Muenchberg, Germany.

For more than a decade, her detailed technical knowledge of textiles has enabled her to collaborate with
companies, helping to set the trend for the top end of the international textile market and create designs for
fabric prints. Her experience in the textile industry, her feeling for colors and trends, and her passion for
traveling is an ongoing source for new inspirations.

In the late 1990s, she single-handedly started a studio in Germany focusing on paintings for modern lifestyle
homes. Her paintings can now be found in many private and corporate collections in Europe and the United
States. The ability to combine art and function forms her unique style and is the key for her success
in commissioned artwork

In 2000 Susanne moved from Europe to the USA where she lived on the Isle of Palms in South Carolina
for 3 years.  Living in this southern, coastal location provided a perfect environment for new and colorful
experiments resulting in her winning the poster contest for the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in 2002. This unique
and vivid painting became the official advertising medium for Spoleto that year.   She also had a great
response to other colorful works not only with low country residents but also with Festival visitors from all
over the USA.

Currently, her most recent work can be viewed, in the Art Gallery Charles II, Charleston, SC and in the
Art Gallery Divanovic and Wahlers, Stuttgart, Germany.
